The New Normal
“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”  Galatians 5:14

As life moves along, we keep establishing new levels of what is normal.  Once we could run a mile. Our new normal is awalk around the block. Once dinner meant a hearty meat-and-potato meal. Now normal is more likely a cup of soup with a side salad.
As we get older, with every visit to our doctor we set  “new normals” for our weight, blood pressure, cholesterol or something else.

How about the way we know and show love? Any
new normals there?

But God’s love doesn’t change. The older I get, the more I love to sing, “Jesus loves me, this I know …” And I do. Knowing his love releases me—even compels me—to pass it on to others.

Lord, help me to make showing your love to others my new normal. Amen.
Challenge:  Do two intentional, loving things today— at least one for a family member.
